A month without progress

I've been neglecting the online world a little bit recently, mostly due to recent health problems.

Soon, however, I'll be regrouping and mass updating several of my websites (including this one, nogginanimations and shizkit), and I'll be releasing a brand new site called FacePlank

So keep your eyes peeled for updates coming along soon!

Don't you just hate it when you've sat doing maths all morning and the afternoon with an ipod, then you get home and realise you've spent the day with maths and an ipod :L

Actually he was very good with it today

But Emily's bored and wants to do something

So she's writing a blog about complete and utter rubbish! Yayyyy :D

And now I'm bored again. I'm going to find a picture for this blog.....

Well I found a picture. That is pretty much how I am right now. Bored bored bored bored bored....

You can't touch this

It finally happened. I got an iTouch.

Besides a reason to get mugged it's actually a nice gadget. Allowing web access at places like mcdonalds, and a comforting sense of "I'm better than you" in an ego-flattering manner.

But apart from stroking my own ego with the smooth silicone incipio case, I decided to start making webapps. for not only an iPod-accessible version of the site, but several other webapps (most still in development), head on down to RyanBiscuit Mini

Finally, something to do!

Games are here!
That's right, now there's no excuse for you to just register and bugger off! :D

The games section is now in Public Beta phase, which means play, rate and comment as much as you can so I can get all the bugs rolled out

In the future I hope to start making my own games with you guys can earn points from, but for now you have a small selection of games from external providers.

The list will grow as more people comment and tell me what it is they like to play :)

Cheers and have fun!

And it's meant to snow EVEN more!!

Looking out of my window right now I could easily mistake Quedgeley for Soviet Russia!

The houses I can see from my are still covered with an inch of snow which is pretty cool :D, and my grumpy next door neighbours still insist on shifting the stuff from their garden.

In the meantime my garden is full of snowmen built by the juniors and cat paw prints, Amber’s just getting used to the snow.
The road outside looks like those Christmas cards that are covered in snow and my gran in Yorkshire can’t get out of the house! After 5 days solid of playing in the snow and catching up with insane amounts of work left over from before Christmas (whoops!) and it’s meant to snow even more tonight!

Unfortunately for those stupid enough to be doing A levels we have to go in next week even if school’s shut for guaranteed failure :(.
I’m thinking wellies to school tomorrow (yayyy!!) and tea at McDonalds with the boyfriend on the way. So just wondering who (non A-level people) is looking forward to yet another possible snow day next week and who (A level people) is looking forward to post exam snowballs fights!

Thanks in part to Dan, I've replaced the stale old Cookie header with something a little more fresh.
Now each time you load a page, a different biscuit will appear next to the title!

I'm also working on a themes system for people who don't like the current theme :)

Keep your eyes peeled for more developments!

I don't have any pictures because it's dark already, however if I have the day off work tomorrow I'll post as many as I can :D

In other news, I'm still updating the site.

What's this? New links?

If you look closely you'll see I've been updating the site.
In my opinion it's a LOT cleaner than before, looks less scattered and more professional.

The changes are minor but noticeable, however I have majorly overhauled the blogs page and stripped the chat of any extra functions to make it quicker. I also redid the User CP a little.

You might also notice the new "UserScripts" page - Basically I've been releasing codes that change how Firefox works to enhance the browsing experience altogether.
Give it a sniff if you're interested.

Cheers and have a good 2010!

It's all over :(

So christmas is over and I'm betting we've all eaten FAR too much and in a few cases drunk too much as well.
Now the festive season is over and I want to know what's in store for you next year.

For me it's the usual loose-the-weight-i-put-on-at-christmas and stop arguing with mother. But it never happens.

I'm all for a big effort to make 2010 the year we all keep our new year's resolutions.
It's like in 2000 (god that's a long time ago) when people made a huge effort because of the new millennium. Now make an effort for the turn of the decade! I want you to tell me what your plans for the new year are partly because I'm more nosey than Ryan, and partly because i think it's easier to keep them if you make them public so to speak.

Ryan's are....
• To stop eating pizza and cake and mcdonalds and coke so much
• To start walking to college (with Emily) semi-regularly
• To surgically remove himself from the computer for at least half an hour a day
• Learn what foods go with what time of the day (e.g. No meatballs for breakfast)
• Start going to bed before the day is over
So tell me yours...

Site updates will come soon, and the Christmas animation will be uploaded before January 1st 2010.

Finally!!!

It's taken a long time and a lot of hard work but I've finally done it. 100% of views on RyanBiscuit, including Ryan. So obviously I'm proud of myself, relieved I can have facebook going at a sensible speed once again, and a bit weirded out about the commitment I put into this.

Because of this, there's going to be a new chart with new statistics that don't include me arriving soon. This means you'll be able to get a more realistic idea of the time you spend on the site that doesn't just say 0.0%. Sorry about that guys....

Because I'm a nosy bugger.

mrSimon's Wonderful Jam

Many of you won't know who mrSimon (Simon McClure) is, however to internet frequents like myself, he is a renowned animator, web designer slash programmer, DJ and music maker.

For now we'll skip introductions and jump straight into the good stuff.
Every now and then, usually every week on a Friday, Simon broadcasts an internet radio show hosted by himself.

He generally mixes and matches random music, often asks for requests from listeners and mixes them all up to create something never heard before.

This type of music is not a widely appreciated genre, however everyone is different and has their own tastes and stuff, personally I love tuning in and relaxing on a Friday.

Tune in and Listen to mrSimon's Wonderful Jam

Count your views....

Hello people. Just in case you were getting bored of Ryan, Emily's here now! :D

Ryan has made a nifty little bar chart that counts how many times you have visited the site, so we can all compete with each other and have several scraps about who loves Ryan more (obviously it is me though), which can be found here...

Clickedy Click Click!

(heehee Emily used coding- admittedly given to her by Ryan but hey!)

As you will see (unless someone has changed it now in which case I will not be happy!) I am speeding off ahead of you all, so I thought I would write a little paragraph about the results it shows...

As of 07/12/2009 at 22:11:07 Emily has 81.2% of all views compared to just 11.1% from a certain somebody who should have nearly all the views. From this data we can clearly conclude who it is who is sleeping with the web designer and is sad enough to spend her evenings reloading the page!

So, enjoy trying to beat me, because we all know that that is NEVER going to happen (if it does I have power to block you from the site- but Ryan would kill me if I did, so I wont!), and enjoy loosing to me as well :D

p.s. all you lot are under 2% now! :p

Databases, databases, databases...

Just to let you know, these blogs are for the technical minded only.
Although you could try to understand the following, if you did you'd probably want to excrete through your eyes.

The following Blog is all about Databases, just to prove that I actually do work while in class.

A flat-file database is a simple collection of files. The actual database itself is more of a bucket.
Each value, column or row, depending on the server operating system, is allocated a different file. The files are protected by administrative permissions, so security is high.

A relational database is a database that draws its information from other databases; relational or flat-file.

Here is an example of a simple database:

The registration system will be complete soon, so you can start leaving comments as soon as that's done, but for now you'll just have to make do with the bland, user-less features of the site ;)

Flash vCam - AS3

A lot of you will probably be wondering what the hell "vCam" is, some may even be asking what Flash is. For you, I'm afraid, there is nothing here to gain.
However if you know your flash, you'll love this.

Remember that old AS2 Camera? The one we all used to control major scene motions?
Yeah, it's back. In AS3.
Fantastic!

The whole reason I held on to the AS2 format was because of the camera, and now there's an AS3 version I can begin learning the language and start working with the new Bones tool in Flash CS4.

The Queen finally cracks down on annoying Paparazzi

It's about time.
Journalists and photographers alike have gone too far just to get a couple of snaps or a juicy, money-making story about someone in the Royal Family beating a dog or taking a shit.
To be honest I think they should have cracked down harder.
Despite them being the Royal family and all, they do have SOME right to privacy. We keep fighting for it, isn't it unfair that they don't get any?
We're all people, and at the end of the day we like to keep ourselves to ourselves.

mrSimon's CLIFFCORE

mrSimon has finalized his newest work of art on the second attempt; "CLIFFCORE".

He was showing me some early examples of melodies and beats, and the first version turned out to be a disappointment. He got bad reviews on YouTube and a couple other sources, and asked in a live chat how he could improve on it.

However now, it's sounding like a classic mrSimon tune. Take a listen;

Christmas is Round the Corner!

So with Christmas around the corner, I've opened a couple of presents early.
One being FL Studio 9, the other being a fresh set of ideas for the year ahead.
This design isn't 100% unique, however I humbly promise that everything you see on the main page with the exception of the blog preview images was hand crafted by me.

Pretty soon I'll be unveiling a login system and registration page for everyone to see, and along with that will come user pages (profiles), customized content and more.

Also, a Christmas movie is in the making!
I'll leave you with this while you wait for me to finish it, this is the music I'm using;

It's all early days yet, which means the shite I am making sounds awful, but thanks to mrSimon's tutorials I'm learning fast.
I'll post some music on here as soon as I make something that doesn't sound like a constipated cat wiping its nose on a dog's ass
